I am a Reiki Master Practitioner and a member of the UK Reiki Federation.

 

What is Reiki?

Reiki means universal life energy and is a Japanese technique that may help reduce stress

and may aid healing, both physical and mental.  

 

Reiki may help with the healing process of suppressed emotions by breaking up energy blockages in your body.  Reiki may help to bring buried emotions to the surface so they may be released, and healing can take place. There may be the release of emotions such as tears or tiredness. 

 

Before the session

It is adviseable to avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and chocolate at least the day before your session.

 

What happens during a session?

You remain fully clothed during the session, removing only shoes, belt and jewellery.  I apply the treatment by laying my hands in various positions on the body or off the body; this usually starts

at your head and moves down the body, perhaps focusing on a particular area. This aims to move and balance the energy within and around your body, and to get rid of any energy blocks, and may help with physical healing and increase your energy. During the session you may feel warmth, coolness, tingling feelings, relaxationand peacefulness.

The first session

 

The first session takes about 1 1/4 hours: I  take a case history and talk with you

about what happens during the session.  Subsequent sessions are for an hour.

After the session

After a Reiki session it is advisable to relax and take things easy for the rest of the day if possible;
